Fishing Techniques
One habit that many beginners get into, as well as some experienced fishers, is that of standing in one place. These anglers stay in the one place and repeatedly fish the same patch of water.
You would need to be doing something different every few casts or this is a total waste of time. When you are fishing the correct fly and covering the water properly any fish that is present will take the fly in the first two or three casts. If there is no response in that period of time, move on to the next patch.
There are many places that fish can hide so it pays to fish all the likely places, even if we can't see fish. It is worth trying in the shadows beneath trees, in ripples, along undercut banks and alongside weedbeds.
